What a team effort! Florina-Elena Comanici, Chris Woolridge, and Magdalena Skowyra from our centre DPC presented their fiber actuators at the EAP in Action at the SPIE NDE conference in Long Beach, California, last week and won.The SPIE Smart Structues + NDE is the meeting where the latest research is shared for advanced materials and sensor systems. One of the events at the conference is 'EAP in action' that shows the latest capabilities and applications of Electroactive Polymers (EAP) materials.
Anne Ladegaard says of the achivement: "I am so proud of this team and how they steered through it all. Three months of persistent fine-tuning, adjusting, readjusting, assembling, disassembling, 3d printing of support structures, ... you name it... and finally the logistics of going over the Atlantic with hair-thin fibers."

The research is part of the project WeArAble funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
